It was an action-packed event featuring 40 players battling it out across 5+2 Swiss System rounds. The unique mechanics of Bughouse brought incredible energy, high-level teamwork, and strategic execution to every single board

Bored of regular, repetitive chess? Try something completely new! Swedish chess, widely known as Bughouse, is the fastest and most chaotic variant around, guaranteed to break your usual routine.

This format originated around the mid-20th century in Western chess clubs as a fun alternative to classical play, and by the late 90s, it blew up into a massive hit at international festivals and online platforms.

How to play¿
—It’s played 2v2 across two boards simultaneously.
—You play White, while your teammate on the adjacent board plays Black.
—Any piece you capture from your opponent is immediately passed to your partner's reserve...
—Then your partner can drop it onto any open square on their board instead of making a normal move.

While classical chess keeps you sitting in silence calculating moves, Bughouse is pure speed, aggression, and teamwork. The first team to deliver checkmate on either board wins. No dry draws, no long thinking—just rapid-fire games one after another.

🇺🇿 HISTORY REPEATED — THIS TIME AT HOME

Some victories become moments that stay in sporting history forever. On September 27, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan became champions of the 46th Chess Olympiad — on home soil, in front of their own fans.

It's the team's second Olympiad gold, after Chennai 2022. But this time it proves something more: this isn't a coincidence, it's the strength of a chess school built at home.
In the decisive final round, Uzbekistan beat a formidable Ukraine 2.5–1.5. The gold was sealed by reserve player Mukhiddin Madaminov, whose win over Roman Dehtiarov was the point the whole tournament was played for. He finished unbeaten, 5.5/7.

A special word for the tournament's best male player — Nodirbek Abdusattorov. On board one, he scored 8/11 and took individual gold with a 2869 performance — the best of any board-one player at the Olympiad.

Right beside him, Javokhir Sindarov went the whole tournament unbeaten, scoring 6.5/10 with a 2816 performance — proof the Uzbek team's strength runs deeper than one name.

Behind every move on the board stood captain Rustam Kasimdzhanov. Under his guidance this tournament, the team took down India, China, the USA, and Armenia — the heavyweights of world chess, one by one.

This gold wasn't built in a day. It's the fruit of years of work and belief. Congratulations to the Uzbekistan national team!
