Dream of Creating Your Own Fashion Collection?

WIUT is launching a new Fashion Design & Collection Development course led by renowned designer Markhamat Umarova, founder of MARU.

Over six months, you will explore the world of fashion, from style theory and concept development to sketching and creating your own look for a real runway show at the WIUT Fashion Show.

📅 Start date: 3 November
⏳ Duration: 6 months, twice a week (3 hours per session)
🏫 Format: On-campus, WIUT Design Lab
🌐 Language: English
💰 Fee: UZS 3,000,000 (two instalments available)

The course is open to WIUT students from all academic backgrounds. Previous experience in drawing, sewing or design is an advantage.

Places are limited! Following registration, applicants will be invited to a briefing with the designer and a short interview.

🌍 SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities - with UNFPA

This week, our SDG Course welcomed Dr Nigina Abaszada, UNFPA Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, together with her team, for a discussion on reducing inequalities and promoting inclusion.

Dr Abaszada shared insights into Uzbekistan’s current progress, ongoing initiatives and the challenges that remain. The session also encouraged students to reflect on how young people can contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable society.

🌍 OUR SUSTAINABLE FUTURE TOGETHER - SDG 11

Last week, our SDG Course welcomed Mr Temur Akhmedov, Sustainability and Green Building Advisor at the New Tashkent Directorate, for a session on SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Mr Akhmedov shared insights into New Tashkent’s sustainable urban development, highlighting green building, energy and water efficiency, people-centred public spaces, and the preservation of national identity.

🎓 Study UK Alumni Inspiration Session Held at WIUT

Westminster International University in Tashkent, in partnership with the British Council and the British Embassy Uzbekistan, hosted the Study UK Alumni Inspiration Session, bringing together students, alumni and guests to explore international education and career opportunities.

The session featured Shirinkhon Toshkhujaeva, Orzugul Goyibova, Khursana Usmanova and Mushtariy Madrakhimova, who shared their experiences of studying in the UK, building international careers and contributing to their communities, as well as practical advice on scholarships and further study.

The event also highlighted the Study UK Alumni Awards 2027, which recognise the achievements and contributions of UK alumni across different fields and communities.

UNESCO Youth Hackathon 2026 – Call for Applications

Students aged 18–30 are invited to apply for the https://www.unesco.org/en/articles/unesco-youth-hackathon-2026, an international initiative focused on developing practical solutions in media and information literacy, artificial intelligence, digital safety, and combating misinformation.

Applications are open to national and international teams of 2–6 participants. UNESCO encourages teams to promote gender balance and inclusivity. Winning teams will have the opportunity to present their projects at the international festival "Voices: European Festival of Journalism and Media Literacy", to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 26–28 November 2026.

❗️Enrolment & Module Registration Deadline – 10 August 2026

The deadline to complete your Enrolment and Module Registration for the 2026/2027 academic year is 10 August 2026. Please complete both procedures via the https://srs.wiut.uz/).

Before the deadline, make sure you:
• Complete your Enrolment
• Register for your modules (Module Registration becomes available only after the Enrolment procedure has been completed.)

After your Module Registration has been approved by your Course Leader, you must complete the required tuition fee payment by 16 September 2026. Please note that your enrolment will only be confirmed once the minimum required payment (¼ of the tuition fee instalment) has been received.

Please keep in mind:
• Failure to complete your Enrolment by the deadline may result in the termination of your studies.
• If you do not register for your modules on time, the University reserves the right to select them on your behalf, without the right to appeal.
• If you need advice on module selection, please consult your Course Leader or Academic Adviser before submitting your registration.
• Students with outstanding tuition fee debts must settle them before they can access the Enrolment procedure in SRS.

WIUT Student Wins First Place at SCO Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 🏆

We are proud to share that WIUT Level 6 Business Information Systems student Sardor Ibrokhimjonov has secured first place with his startup idea at the national qualifying stage of the 5th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, held in Tashkent on 5 June.

As a result of this outstanding achievement, Sardor will represent Uzbekistan at the international stage in China and take part in a 15-day bootcamp programme across Qingdao, Wuxi and Shanghai. During the programme, finalists will meet with experts, innovation ecosystem representatives and leading technology companies.

Congratulations to Sardor on this remarkable success and we wish him every success in the next stage of the competition! 🎉
